2010 Orchestra Website Review

November 4, 2010 § Leave a comment

Ever wanted to know how well professional orchestras manage their Internet presence? Then take a look at the 2010 Orchestra Website Review over at Drew McManus Adaptistration: http://www.adaptistration.com/2010/10/19/2010-orchestra-website-review-overall-rankings/

On top of the list is the Chicago Symphony, closely followed by the Nashville Symphony and the San Francisco Symphony. Websites features that were evaluated are: the concert schedule, possibilities to purchase tickets and make donations, provided information about the organization, and the “overall content and functionality” of the site.

This sounds familiar, right? I like the idea of having an interactive calendar on the website and to publish an IRS Form 990 online to make it more accessible and the organization more transparent. Do you still remember the top 10 mistakes of arts websites? We should keep them in mind to make sure whenever our arts organization will be evaluated it will be ranked high.
